Privacy & security, by hardware and design

kill switch: A hardware‐level switch that cuts power to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.

Integrated webcam cover: A mechanical slider that physically blocks the camera.

Open-source firmware (coreboot): Horizon runs coreboot, giving you transparency, configurability, and full control over boot paths. It supports Secure Boot, measured boot, memory encryption, TPM 2.0 and importantly, the dreaded Intel Management Engine is disabled.

Flexible cooling & quiet operation: You get configurable cooling profiles (Quiet, Balanced, Performance), and you can even disable the fan fully for silent, passive-mode operation. 


Ports, audio, ergonomics: It packs typical modern connectivity options, stereo speakers, dual digital mics while the glass trackpad and thoughtfully designed keyboard/layout aim for a comfortable, premium feel.
